RWK Server

The RWK Server is a multi-protocol engine designed to expand capabilities beyond the standard HTTP protocol. What does this mean for you? Redwerks can reach past traditional web limitations, giving new depth to online applications.

For example, a website could turn a user’s browser frame colour red if a storm warning was in effect... data can be pushed to the website without user initiation and without continual checks to the server. And data can connected to existing stardard desktop applications.

We developed Redwerks to serve standard functions that can be used across an evolving network. This means a sharp reduction in development time and testing: any website developed on this network can take advantage of expansions on any other Redwerks website.

For example: If one website has a tool to fetch local weather results, your site could pull this function to provide users with this tool as well. In the true spirit of web 2.0, traditional walls between web projects begin to fall.

The RWK Server is developed as a smart server allowing greater protection against, for example, Denial of Service attacks as commands built into the very core structure. It also means it can really serve up anything you want. See below for more examples.

Advanced Future Applications

Redwerks desktop connections open up a new world for advanced application. For example a beta widget we developed turns on the office lights and starts the morning kettle via a Redworks online widget interface. This is one basic example that begins to show how connected we can become.

A new Redwerks module connects to a standard webcam that will monitor an office, home, appartment, etc. If anyone walks by, the webcam will detect motion and send a signal to the server.

Once this signal is recieved, the module can be set to preform a number of actions in response such as emailing or calling the owner or posting an alarm on a personal homepage that anyone can monitor.

It could also set off a series of actions such as turn on the lights and alarm system, send multiple emails, phone someone and deliver a voice message via Texas Speach.

The real concept is not the security widget itself but a powerful example of how a more powerful and smarter system can start to connect to existing technologies and preform functions previously considered impossible.

ECO: A Database
that can think

Eco builds non-linear connections that mimic the way our minds naturally work
In practical terms, Eco allows us to develop online systems that are easily adaptable to change. Instead of messy patchwork, each addition makes the system stronger by developing new pathways of association.

Widgets

Drag and Drop web apps are finally here
Redwerks Widgets allow users to customize features and content without upsetting the overall integrity of the system framework.
